A life full of love
Until the ripe age of 93, Jimmy Chan never let his grandkids forget that he was a true blue cowboy who grew up on a ranch in Winnemucca, Nevada

(He swears he even rode a wild horse bareback for 8 whole seconds!)
That's where he got his free spirit
and positive outlook on life.
Because in spite of an incredibly
difficult upbringing--losing his
mother at age 7, being shot nearly
fatally twice, and experiencing
tremendous racism in the States--,
he never once complained.

As an adult, Jimmy Chan
fought hard to join the
plumbers' union in Los
Angeles, and worked
industriously at his craft for
over 35 years.
